  17. Very interesting idea, but it sounds like hell on the hard drive.  Was
  18. there 
  19. any talk about going to some other type of computer readable digital
  20. media?  
  21. High speed optical?  Flash RAM?  Anything?

  24. Well, there's one digital media you didn't mention - TAPE...I know, I
  25. know, I know - tape is dead...but I think that digital tape based systems
  26. will be a good short-term (for the next 6 yearsish) solution...I say this
  27. based on audio recording, where tape is good to aquire (a linear job) and
  28. disks are good to edit on (a non-linear job)....

  30. Panasonic showed a neat little digital camcorder and laptop computer sized
  31. edit system, to be released in a year. It's priced high and it's aimed at
  32. ENG and it's a new format....but the IDEA is good. (The tapes are REAL
  33. small - cassette sized, too)

  35. This is not to say that this is the answer...just mentioning something
  36. that wasn't mentioned. (The rumour I keep waiting for is cheap digital
  37. Hi-8....still waiting!)
